Chief Warden-

This session covers the duties and responsibilities of the Chief Warden (CW) and Deputy Chief Warden (DCW). On completion of this session, the CW and DCW will understand how to coordinate operations of the ECO and how to coordinate actions to safeguard endangered persons. This session covers the practical use of emergency communication systems within the site, enhancing's ECO response to any impacting emergency.

Warden-

This session is for participants who have been appointed as Fire Wardens in an ECO. On completion participants will understand how to operate as part of an ECO. The session meets State/Territory WHS regulations and is designed to equip Fire Wardens with the skills and knowledge to carry out their duties in emergency situations, including emergency procedures, briefing on fire protection equipment, site familiarisation and an introduction to fire extinguishers.

Face-to-Face face-to-face contact time of at least 1 Hour 30 Mins

To become a Chief Warden you must first a Warden 

This certificate has an industry recommended renewal period of 12 months

The competency-based training session for Chief Wardens and Wardens consists of both theoretical and practical training. Assessment activities include:

  • Types of emergencies likely to occur in your building
  • Structure of ECO
  • Familiarisation tour of typical floor or site
  • Types of fire protection equipment
  • Emergency Procedures – duties of ECO
This course does not lead to a nationally recognised certificate
